With an incredible 326 miles of footpaths in a compact area, there is a huge choice of where to walk, which means that walkers can experience all the diversity the island has to offer – jaw-dropping views such as those from the magnificent coastline of West Wight, St Catherine’s Point and the Needles, sweeping downland, as well as 2.000 or so listed buildings.

The graded day walks range from 7–28km (4–18 miles) and can be enjoyed in 2–8 hours. The Coastal Path is a longer more challenging route circumnavigating the island. This is presented in 8 stages and covers 113km (70 miles).
